From Hannibal’s quaint Mark Twain Historical District we drove to Lover’s Leap, and Mark Twain’s Cave, and then hit the 61 north. Passing Palmyra, Missouri, we discovered the 61 north was flooded.
So, for awhile, we were re-routed onto the 27 north slightly over the border of Iowa.
Lovely, lovely Iowa. Green, humid, hot with barns and farmhouses everywhere. We caught the 61 north again, after the flooding danger was passed.
