Days 5 & 6: Mad, crazy dash from Coeur d’Alene to Bismark, North Dakota and St. Paul, Minn.

Beautiful Idaho…from Couer d’Alene, Idaho, we needed to drive east quickly. Jim’s daughter only had July 4th, 5th, and 6th off for our visit. From Coeur d’Alene we drove east on the 94 east.

At Montana, we drove the 90 east. Many, many fires through Billings, Montana.

Devastating fires all over the west! Saw my first red full moon last night.

Forsythe, Montana. We needed to find somewhere to spend the night, but with the new pipeline from Canada, there were no motel rooms. We drove almost 1000 miles that night! The only devils we saw that drive was a dust devil.

The rest stops are planted beautifully across the 94 east. We made it, tired, hot, and weary to Minnesota.

Sara’s garden:

Hydrangea,

Purple cone flower…

After 987 miles through HOT flat terrain, driving on the 94 east, through Fargo; we were glad to see Sara & Bob!
