Day 3: San Luis Obispo to Medford, Oregon, July 1st, 2012

Early this morning, we hit the road! Up the 101, we decided on a completely different cross- the -state- going- east road, the 198. The 198 is just north of Mission San Miguel and Paso Robles.

Farms in fog…

Still on the 198.

Priest Valley Road: a nice windy, curvy road in Central California. Good for a Miata.

Moss on a post.

Mighty oaks and Spanish moss (really a bromeliad). At Coalinga, we went North, again. Coalinga got its name from early coaling stations in California. It was the site of Coaling Station A.

On the I – 5 towards Mt. Shasta…

Breath-taking!

Yep. Snow.

 Siskiyou Wilderness area.

Ashland, Oregon.

Hello, Medford, Oregon! Almost 650 miles today! And it was beautiful.
