Day One: San Luis Obispo to South Tahoe

After another farewell breakfast, this time with Keturah and Mary, we hit the road about 8:00 a.m.  No sleeping in when Jimbo is on the road. We woke up our east-of-the-Mississippi-taste-buds: biscuits and gravy, counter-balanced with oatmeal and fruit, and lots of strong, hot coffee. We made it to the I-5 by 10, after a slow trip on the 46 through new wine country.  I especially enjoyed the signs every half-mile “Congress Caused Dust Bowl:  Get Rid of Boxer and Feinstein” whereas, there were very verdant almond trees, apricots, and corn, etc.

One Response to Day One: San Luis Obispo to South Tahoe

  1. It’s wonderful to have the open road rolling away beneath your tires. I know those “Dust Bowl” signs well from trips up North. Drive safe, take lots of pictures, and make memories! Meanwhile I’ll be doing the best that an orange cat can to take care of the dogs!
